L&T’s ecosystem partners benefit from programmes conducted by L&T Institute of Project Management
L&T Institute of Project Management (IPM) was set up to enhance the effectiveness of project managers in L&T as well as its valued customers.
In the past few months, IPM conducted programmes for the executives of Gmmco, Tata Chemicals, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL).
Gmmco
IPM conducted two programmes for the CK Birla Group company Gmmco in August-December 2024. ‘Strategic Leadership & Project Advancement through Resilience & Knowledge (SPARK)’ was for the top management; ‘Leadership, Execution, Agility & Decision Making' (LEAD) was for general managers.
Conducted at L&T's Leadership Development Academy (LDA) at Lonavala, the six-day SPARK was aimed at equipping the participants with critical skills and knowledge necessary to develop strategic leadership, enhance project advancement, build team resilience, and master risk management.
LEAD, the one-year four-module programme, was designed for Gmmco project managers seeking to enhance their management skills in the context of infrastructure projects. It was managed by IPM Dean Prof Rajiv Nehru, Dy Dean Prof Manish Jantikar and faculty Dr S P Srinath.
LEAD combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, equipping participants with the tools to excel in complex engineering endeavours. It seeks to develop requisite management skills and equip the participants with latest tools and techniques to manage complex domestic and international projects. It also upskills project execution talent to support leadership ascent of high-calibre project professionals.

The programme was delivered in two batches, each comprising 30 participants with around 20 years of professional experience in diverse backgrounds such as projects, design, and operations. The programme was delivered by IPM faculties Dr Avirag Bajpai and Arun Vetrivel.
