On the occasion, the metro made a successful inaugural trip from the depot to Rose-Hill Station with Prime Minister Jugnauth, selected dignitaries and local media on board. The occasion was marked by loud cheers from the huge crowd of locals and L&T staffers who had gathered to witness the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subrahmanyan said, “It has been one of the fastest executed Transit Systems by L&T. This project gives us an opportunity to deliver from ‘Track to Train’ and is a first-of-its-kind integrated project for an Indian company to do outside India.”
