L&T’s HIV treatment centre in Mumbai earns a coveted ranking

Since 2014, L&T has been running a busy facility for HIV treatment – the Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) Centre in Mumbai – under public private partnership (PPP) with the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS) and the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). The Centre caters to patients who reside in the area.

As per MDACS FY 2026 Q1 Score Card, the L&T ART Centre has been ranked No. 1 among Mumbai’s 20 ART Centres.

It is pertinent to note that L&T’s ART centre was India’s first PPP model to receive full accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers.

This prestigious MDACS ranking is a testament to the commitment, teamwork and excellence demonstrated by every member of the ART Centre.

The achievement reflects the Centre’s continued focus on clinical excellence, patient-centred care, adherence counselling, viral load surveillance, holistic support for People Living with HIV (PLHIV), accurate data management and efficient service delivery.

The top ranking highlights the Centre’s strong performance across key HIV programme indicators, including treatment adherence and viral suppression (critical goals of ART programmes), retention in care and timely follow-up.

The constant guidance, mentorship and encouragement of Dr Divyang Shah (Chief Medical Officer, L&T) and Dr Madhuri Franklin (DGM - Medical Services, and Nodal Officer of the ART Centre) were instrumental in fructifying this significant achievement.

Securing the top position among Mumbai’s ART Centres is more than just recognition of past efforts; it is also an inspiration to strive towards continued excellence.
