MBAs from India’s premier institutes get wings with L&T
Each year, L&T hires some of the brightest MBAs directly from the campuses of India’s premier business management institutes. This time, the Company recruited 32 such freshly-baked MBAs in domains such as HR, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations, Strategy and Analytics.
To usher in the newcomers, L&T’s Corporate HR hosted an orientation programme on 12 June to instil in them the organisational ethos, values and vision, and prepare them for the momentous journey ahead. The event was hosted at AMN Tower in Mumbai.
Mr Shrikant Joshi (Advisor to L&T CMD) and Dr C Jayakumar (EVP & Head – Corporate HR) and addressed the newbies, enlightening them about the L&T world and inspiring them with the Company’s excellence, forward-thinking and commitment to its values.
Dr C Jayakumar said that L&T is committed to nurturing young talent, grooming them to become leaders. Mr Joshi provided insights into L&T’s diverse business ventures and strategic goals, motivating the new recruits to contribute meaningfully to the Company’s growth and success.
This was followed by a session on employee well-being, emphasising the importance of work-life balance and adopting habits which, in turn, ensure that employees can perform at their best.
The MBAs have now been posted in various L&T businesses like L&T Semiconductor Technologies, L&T-Cloudfiniti, L&T Realty, SuFin and L&T Precision Engineering & Systems.
Prior to this, in April, Corporate HR inducted 52 final-year MBA students for a two-month paid internship. They came from prominent business management institutes across India.
These interns were placed with different L&T verticals and got to tackle some of the trickiest business challenges. While this helped them gain first-hand knowledge of working in a world-class corporate, L&T benefitted from their fresh perspectives and innovative solutions.
