L&T-made construction machine achieves a milestone
Affirming the high demand for L&T compactors, the Company recently achieved a significant milestone by selling its 4000th.
This reinforces L&T’s leadership in the indigenous manufacture of road- construction equipment, which is undertaken by its Construction & Mining Machinery business.
Compactors have been part of L&T’s portfolio only since 2016 and these are also exported to South Asia and Africa.
Compactors play a vital role in infrastructure development by ensuring the stability and longevity of roads, highways and large-scale construction projects. They compact base layers to create firm foundations for roads and embankments. The record-setting compactor – an L&T 2490 Pneumatic Tyred Roller (PTR) – helps seal the surface to prevent water penetration, thus enhancing road life.
The superior quality, high reliability, trustworthy durability, ease of operation and excellent performance of L&T’s compactors make the brand an industry favourite. These machines have been used at several prestigious project sites across the country – airport runways in Kannur, Bengaluru and Delhi; strategic border roads in Jaisalmer, and several highway projects.
L&T’s compactor portfolio has expanded over the years to include soil compactors, tandem compactors and mini tandem compactors.
