L&T's Water Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business won five prestigious Water Digest World Water Awards (WDWWA).
A premier global event celebrating innovation and excellence in water management, WDWWA 2023-24 was organised for the 18th year on 5 February at New Delhi, in partnership with UNESCO. The event was supported by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, National Mission for Clean Ganga, and the National Water Mission.
The awards ceremony was presided over by Mr Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti. Attendees included several other doyens of the water world – Mr Tim Curtis (Director – UNESCO Regional Office of New Delhi and the UNESCO Representative to Bhutan, India, the Maldives and Sri Lanka) and several participants from the industry, government, development agencies, academia, water governance and management institutions.
The awards for 2023-24 were presented in over 50 categories, with the overarching theme of ‘Water Warriors for Peace’. Acknowledging the efforts that addressed pressing water challenges, these awards highlighted the importance of collaborative action and innovation in achieving water sustainability.
L&T’s WET business was adjudged the winner in the categories below for their commendable efforts in contributing to India’s water infrastructure.

The awards were received by Mr Rakesh Kumar Jain (Head - Operations Support, North), Mr Parthiban Mohan (Project Director, Narmada Kshipra Multipurpose Project) and Mr Pragatheesh Sugavanam (Digital Coordinator – Rural Water Supply, North).
