Sponsoring para-athletes and sheltering cancer patients are the latest in LTIMindtree's multifarious social initiatives

LTIMindtree (LTIM) is sponsoring the training of ten differently- abled athletes who are scheduled to take part in the Paris Paralympics 2024.

The ten athletes are supported by Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), a sports-focused NGO co-founded by Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone. OGQ facilitates coaching, nutrition, psychological support, and injury management to help Indian athletes achieve their dreams.

The ten differently-abled sportspeople that LTIM is sponsoring are into Athletics, Badminton, Shooting and Powerlifting. As they gear up for the Paris Paralympics in August- September this year, LTIM recently hosted them at its Bengaluru facility for an exclusive event – Quest for Gold. The event encapsulated the spirit of determination and the pursuit of excellence, embodying the spirit of the Olympic Games: faster, higher, stronger – together.

LTIM CEO & MD Mr Debashis Chatterjee, COO Mr Nachiket Deshpande and Global Head – Sustainability Mr Paneesh Rao and associates joined in to felicitate these inspiring athletes, hear their compelling stories, and to wish them success.

    Cancer Care Support Centre

LTIM has opened a paediatric cancer care support centre at Chembur, Mumbai in partnership with Access Life Assistance Foundation (ALAF). Inaugurated in January, the centre marks a significant milestone in LTIM’s ongoing partnership with ALAF.

This support centre will offer free accommodation, hygienic surroundings, nutritious meals, safe transportation to and from hospital, counselling services, recreational and educational support to cancer-afflicted children and their families.

These comprehensive services provide solace to the parents of such children throughout the treatment period, which can last from several months to a few years. The centre can accommodate 14 families at a time.

ALAF, a registered Indian not-for-profit entity operating since 2014, provides supportive care to families with children undergoing cancer treatment. They currently operate eight cancer care centres in Mumbai, Pune, Manipal, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, reaching out to over 1,600 underprivileged children.
