Shining for Self-Sufficiency

Union
Minister of Heavy Industries Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey commended L&T Special Steels & Heavy Forgings (LTSSHF) for the development of India’s heaviest hydrogenator shaft forgings (36 MT) for lift irrigation / hydropower projects.
The honour came at the BHEL SAMVAAD 3.0 hosted by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) and the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) in November 2023.
The shafts that LTSSHF has developed used to be imported, mainly from China. When LTSSHF was awarded the order to develop them in India, it did so by enhancing in-house capabilities.
