The elevation of Mr S N Subrahmanyan as the Chairman & Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro is a watershed moment not only for L&T, but also for India’s corporate landscape at large. His rise – from a supervisory position to L&T’s topmost chair – is a validation of all that hard work and perseverance can achieve. Hence, it is interesting to gain an insight into what makes him tick.

Our cover story delves into Mr Subrahmanyan’s persona and his vision for the future. It also casts light on the priorities that he has set for L&T, one of which is overhauling the company’s HR processes.

L&T has a robust CSR mechanism that gives expression to its unending quest for making a difference where it matters most. Two recent CSR conferences gave rise to cross-pollination of ideas to enhance the impact of L&T’s social goals.

Then, in line with its aim to be at the frontline of global energy transition, L&T has made a vital contribution to the world’s first bio-fuel refinery in the making that seeks to produce cellulosic ethanol from bamboo.

Read about all these developments and more in this issue.

Happy reading!
