TO mark the 75th anniversary of L&T’s Construction & Mining Machinery business (CMB), India Post released a special cover and a corporate My Stamp on 15 December.
 
The commemorative cover and the stamp were unveiled by Ms Sharada Sampath, the Chief- Postmaster-General of Karnataka Circle, in the presence of L&T CEO & MD Mr S N Subrahmanyan, CMB EVP Mr Arvind K Garg and the Bengaluru Region Postmaster-General Mr L K Dash.
 
The specially-designed cover and stamp feature various models of earthmoving equipment introduced by L&T in the past seven decades.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Subrahmanyan said: “We are delighted that our Construction & Mining Machinery business has been fulfilling the needs of the mining and construction sectors with high quality equipment and excellent service for the last 75 years.”
 
Pointing out that CMB introduced the hydraulic excavator to India, thereby contributing significantly to the country’s infrastructure development, Mr Subrahmanyan added that as an engineering conglomerate, L&T has been instrumental in partnering with the nation and bringing cutting edge technologies from across the world, thus enabling growth acceleration.
 
CMB has supplied over 60,000 units of various equipment in India in its 75-year association with the construction and mining Industry. These machines have been used to create landmarks of exceptional design.
 
On her part, Chief-Postmaster-General Ms Sampath appreciated L&T’s seminal contribution as a frontline engineering organisation committed to building India through involvement in critical projects. She congratulated L&T’s senior management for the success.
 
Thanking India Post, Mr Garg said that L&T-ites are honoured to have this commemorative cover and stamp issued on CMB’s 75th anniversary and thanked the Department of Posts for this acknowledgment.
 
“L&T has been leading the way to fulfilling the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat with manufacture and supply of road machineries such as vibratory compactors and wheel loaders that are deployed for roads and highways development. We reaffirm our commitment to develop and launch cost-effective technologies for Indian customers,” he pledged.
