Honour for HR
Honour for HR
SEPTEMBER 17 was L&T Corporate HR’s day in the sun.  For, not only did its Leadership Talent Assessment team emerge as the first runner-up, but three team members were among the winners at the 47th National Competition for Young Managers (NCYM).
The winner trio comprises Ms Jesny Ann Jacob (Assistant Manager), Ms Nupoor Agrawal (Assistant Manager) and Mr Kaustabh Hazarika (Manager).
The All India Management Association (AIMA) has been organising this annual competition since 1974. The competition recognises excellence at the national level in key corporate attributes: analytical, creative thinking, problem solving, team working and leadership skills.
The competition brings disparate teams of young executives from both the public and the private sectors on a common platform to research, analyse, discuss, and deliberate on a theme of contemporary managerial interest and national significance.
This year, the theme was Transformation for Continuity: Innovative Practices for Resilient Organisations. Over 120 teams from across the country participated, representing top-notch organisations like Infosys, Tata Steel, Bosch, Ashok Leyland, HDFC Bank, JK Tyres, BPCL, HPCL, NTPC, NALCO, Carborundum Universal and BHEL.
The case presentations by the teams traversed the spectrum of business functions – Operations, Supply Chain, IT, HR, etc. – with innovative ideas backed by research and analysis of data from pertinent sources, both primary and secondary. The teams were segregated region-wise – North, South, East and West. Two best teams from each region were selected for the grand finale, where Bosch India emerged the winner and L&T became the first runner-up.
