WORKING against a stiff deadline is what L&T’s Smart World & Communication (SW&C) vertical has always excelled in and, with the fastest ever completion of the Jhansi Smart City project, a new benchmark has been set.
 
Mr Avanish Kumar Rai (Municipal Commissioner and CEO – Jhansi Smart City Ltd), along with Mr Shadab Aslam (Addl Municipal Commissioner and ACEO), on 17 September issued a formal go-live certificate to the L&T-built Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) for the Jhansi Smart City. Mr C Chockalingam (Operations Head –SWC-Safe & Smart Segment) and Mr Jignesh Dubey (Project Manager – Jhansi Smart City Project) received the certification on L&T’s behalf.
 
Work for the ICCC had commenced on 3 July 2020 and, despite the restrictions during the pandemic, it was completed within 12 months on 30 June 2021. The project is now in the operation and maintenance (O&M) phase for five years, with effect from 1 July 2021. The project’s scope of work was completed within the stipulated time in accordance with the requirements specified, encompassing design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning with five years of comprehensive O&M of the following components:
  • Integrated Command & Control Centre
  • Data Centre and Disaster Recovery  Centre  (hosted on cloud)
  • State-of-the-art cyber security solution with components NIPS/IPS, DDoS, Server
  • Security solution (HIPS), anti-APT, etc.
  • Emergency response system – 24x7 contact centre
  • City surveillance system
  • Environmental monitoring sensors
  • Intelligent traffic management system:
    o Adaptive traffic control system (ATCS)
    o Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)
    o Red light violation detection (RLVD) system
    o Speed violation detection (SVD) system
  • Variable message display boards
  • ICT-enabled solid-waste management system
  • E-Office – document and record management system
