Honour for L&T Oman
LARSEN & TOUBRO (Oman) LLC has been conferred the prestigious ‘Infrastructure Project of the Year’ Award by Construction Week Oman – the largest construction and contracting portal in the Middle East.
The honour has come for significantly contributing to the environment and demonstrating construction best practices and technologies. The Award was hand over to L&T (Oman) at a ceremony hosted virtually on 31 March.

Construction Week chose L&T Oman for its work on the solar PV plant with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company. It was lauded for focusing on renewable energy and green initiatives that will benefit tens of thousands of households. In addition, the project was delivered on time and on budget – despite the very many difficulties experienced in 2020-2021.

L&T Oman was also ‘Highly Commended’ for its health, safety & environment efforts on the Shatti Al Qurum Hotel & Apartment Project.

The eminent jury comprised Mr Jamie Kellick (Senior Partner - Kennedys Law), Mr Lachlan Gyde (Executive Director, Asset Management - Ithra Dubai)  and Mr Ashley Williams (Editor - Construction Week). They evaluated multiple submissions from 11 categories to find the highly commended and eventual winners.

Following its win, L&T Oman will now be shortlisted for the ‘Infra Project of the Year’ for the Construction Week Awards 2021 which will take place in December.

The Dark Web is a mysteriou...

The Dark Web is a mysterious and enigmatic realm of the internet, often shrouded in secrecy and intrigue. Contrary to the surface web that most users navigate daily, the dark web is a clandestine digital space intentionally hidden from traditional search engines. The dark https://deepweb.net/blog/newest/what-is-the-dark-web-1 web is not inherently nefarious, but it has earned a reputation for harboring illicit activities due to its anonymity-centric nature.

The dark web is a subset of the deep web, a vast expanse of online content not indexed by standard search engines. Accessible only through specialized browsers like Tor, the dark web is a labyrinthine network of encrypted websites and forums that prioritize user anonymity. This anonymity is achieved through the use of encryption tools and technologies that conceal users' identities, making it challenging for authorities to trace their online activities.

One of the primary purposes the dark web serves is providing a platform for users to communicate without fear of surveillance. Privacy-conscious individuals, journalists, and activists often leverage the dark web to exchange information securely, shielded from prying eyes. However, the dark web is a double-edged sword, as it also facilitates illegal transactions and activities, ranging from drug trafficking and hacking services to the sale of stolen data.

Law enforcement agencies around the world actively monitor the dark web to combat criminal enterprises operating within its shadowy confines. Despite these efforts, the decentralized and encrypted nature of the dark web poses a formidable challenge to authorities, allowing illicit marketplaces and forums to persist. The dark web is a breeding ground for cybercriminals who exploit its anonymity to orchestrate attacks, trade in illegal goods, and engage in other illicit enterprises.

It's crucial to recognize that not all activities on the dark web are illegal or malicious. The dark web is also home to platforms that promote free speech, enabling users to express dissenting opinions without fear of reprisal. This duality underscores the complexity of the dark web, a space where the line between activism and criminality can blur.

In conclusion, the dark web is a facet of the internet that exists beyond the familiar reaches of the surface web. Its encrypted and anonymous nature makes it both a refuge for privacy-conscious individuals and a haven for illegal activities. Understanding the nuances of the dark web is essential to navigating the digital landscape, acknowledging its potential benefits while remaining vigilant against the risks it poses to individuals and society at large.
