The first coil rollout at SAIL Rourkela.
L&T’s Metallurgical & Material Handling (MMH) Strategic Business Group has commissioned a state-of-the-art hot strip mill at the Central PSU, SAIL, in Rourkela. The new hot strip mill has a built-in capacity of 3 million ton per annum. The top-notch quality products to be rolled out from the new facility will add value to the product-line of the Rourkela Steel Plant. The first coil rollout from the hot strip mill was successfully achieved on 31 January at 7.42 pm. The feat came with support from the in-house Engineering Design and Research Centre and other associates. Mr Anupam Kumar, VP & Head-MMH SBG, congratulated all those involved in the project.
