The near five lakh IT professionals who work in Hyderabad’s Hi-Tec City are a happier lot now! This is ever since L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (LTMRHL) threw open to public a new metro link connecting Hi-Tec City and Raidurg on 29 November last. This is the last leg of Hyderabad’s Blue Line Metro and is particularly proving beneficial to the IT professionals within a 3-km radius. The first metro train on the stretch was jointly flagged off by Mr S N Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD of L&T, and Mr K T Rama Rao, the minister for industries & commerce, IT E&C, and municipal administration & urban development of Telangana. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Telangana transport minister, Mr Patnam Mahender Reddy, LTMRHL MD & CEO, Mr K V B Reddy, and Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited MD, Mr N V S Reddy. In keeping with L&T’s ‘Go-Green’ campaign, and the eco-friendliness of Hyderabad Metro, LTMRHL presented both the ministers a certificate for a grove of 10 trees each at the Trees for Rural Communities, Chintamani, Karnataka.
Projects like Hyderabad Metro benefit people in many ways. Travel time gets reduced, family joys get doubled, and cleaner air leads to healthier lungs.
