Dr. Sarangi familiarised the audience with the basic tenets of her 5I Model for organisational excellence.
This past February, L&T’s Head of Capability Development, Dr. Swatee Sarangi was invited to USA to speak at the Michigan India Conference 2019, an annual gathering of students, academicians, business leaders, and policy makers which deliberates on the latest trends and opportunities in India. Held at the famous Stephen M. Ross School of Business (University of Michigan), the theme for this year’s event was ‘Moving Beyond Emerging’ which set out to explore ways in which the discourse around India could evolve past the ‘Emerging Economy’ label. One of the ways in which India and Indian companies can shed the emerging tag is organisational excellence, explained Dr. Sarangi. In her address, she shared insights about pursuing organisational excellence from a strategic standpoint and familiarised the audience with her 5i Model – Inclusive, Inspire, Integrity, Innovation, and Invincible – for nurturing a culture of excellence and growth at both organizational and national levels. She presented a fresh perspective on how efforts to lead change at the microeconomic level can contribute to India’s growth story. Members of the audience added that the talk gave them valuable tenets into how businesses and people in organizations can be leveraged. Dr. Sarangi, also interacted with a number of high-profile speakers and dignitaries attending the event. Chief among them was Sadhguru of Isha Foundation.
