The Lambir substation project which is L&T’s maiden T&D project in Southeast Asia and the Samalaju project which is the largest ever GIS substation project in South East Asia were successfully commissioned in Mar 2018 and Jun 2018 respectively. Adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety and achieving on-time completion of works under stringent timelines in these projects enabled the BU to gain the confidence of Sarawak Energy while also establishing L&T as a leading T&D player in the ASEAN region. ASEAN BU, with its regional head office in Kuala Lumpur, is currently executing 2 projects in Malaysia and 3 projects in Thailand. To support its growth plans, the BU is on a geographical expansion mode and is working closely with utilities in Indonesia, Philippines, Laos and Myanmar to secure T&D projects.
