A paper titled “Environmental Efforts in Construction Projects - Snapshots”, authored by Dr. Krishna Nirmala Sen, Head EHS, MMH, and Mr. Vimal Raj, Sr. Engineer, EHS, was presented at the 105th Indian Science Congress (ISC) 2018. The paper was presented as a poster during the ISC at Manipur University by Mr. Vimal Raj under the “Environmental Sciences Section” in March, earlier this year.
In this paper, attempts were made to study various construction-related environmental hazards and the steps that can be taken to mitigate the adverse effects. During the study it was found that most of these steps are not difficult to adopt and may be implemented as well as sustained without much investment and difficulty in execution. This could also lead to cost reduction and sustainability achievement.
