Heavy Civil Infrastructure added one more benchmark to its list of illustrious metro rail projects with the successful commissioning of DMRC CC27 (UG-2) project for public operations between Shankar Vihar Ramp to Hauz Khas Station which is a part of the new Magenta line flagged off on May 28, 2018 by the Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (IC) Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, along with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and DMRC MD Mr. Mangu Singh.
The New Magenta line will play a pivotal role in reducing the travel time in NCR between the two cities of Noida (UP) and Gurugram (Haryana). The major inter-change facility of the new line with the existing underground Yellow line has been provided at the newly constructed Hauz Khas Metro Station. Construction of the Hauz Khas station is an engineering marvel as it was built at a depth of 29m besides an already operational station making it the deepest metro station in India. The top management of DMRC acknowledged L&T for completing all the station and tunnel works with good quality and safety. Kudos to the young and motivated team of L&T CC-27 Project which achieved this landmark under the dynamic leadership and able guidance of Project Director Mr.Sandeep Singh mitigating various challenges. Opening the Magenta Line has not only put localities like Vasant Vihar, Munirka on the Metro rail map but has also provided connectivity to institutions like IIT Delhi through the IIT and R.K.Puram Stations. The CC-27 project stretch is the largest to be opened on Line-8 of DMRC Phase-III (Magenta line) between Kalkaji and Janakpuri West.
