The Riyadh Metro team achieved yet another milestone recently by completing the erection of eight canopies of the elevated stations with the final piece installed at the 3C2 station on November 18, 2017.

The elegantly designed steel spaces are perched on the station platform sections portraying the shape of three birds flying from the side view. Weighing 145 MT with an overall roof dimension measuring 90 m in length and 16.4 m in width, it is a double cantilever two span canopy (15 m + 30 m + 30 m + 15 m). The total area of canopy structure is divided into 1374 triangles and they are cladded with perforated aluminum panels.

ANM Consortium is the first to successfully complete the canopies across all elevated stations. Mr. T. Srinivasan, EVP & Head – Riyadh Metro project congratulated Mr. J.K. Shivaraj – GM & Head, Elevated Section and Mr. H.D. Kumta – JGM & Head, Elevated Stations for their meticulous planning and execution that enabled completion of this milestone. Engineers from the top management and ANM Consortium also appreciated the site team for realizing this feat.
