    DMRC’s New Magenta Line Inaugurated

L&T added one more benchmark to its list of illustrious metro projects when DMRC’s new magenta line from Kalkaji Mandir (Delhi) to Botanical Garden (U.P) was declared open by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on December 25, 2017. Present on the occasion were the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik. DMRC’s Managing Director Dr. Mangu Singh, accompanied the dignitaries on a maiden ride from Botanical Garden Station to Okhla Bird Sanctuary.

The stretch from Kalkaji Mandir – Botanical garden is the first major milestone under DMRC Phase-III involving 3 packages for L&T after the inauguration of Badarpur – Escorts Mujesar (Line-06) section & Jahangirpuri – Samaypur Badli (Line-02) section. Transportation Infrastructure and Power Transmission & Distribution ICs executed significant packages of this metro section with TI IC involved in packages CE-07 & CE-08 while PT&D IC steered the execution of CE-07, CE-08 & CE-09 jobs.  The entire commissioned metro corridor runs a length of 12.64 km encompassing nine stations and one depot with Kalkaji Mandir being the only underground station.
