NPL Wins at Fly Ash Utilization Awards

Nabha Power Limited (NPL) was awarded the runner-up prize for fly ash utilisation by Mission Energy Foundation. The prestigious award was conferred on Nabha Power in the category of Thermal Power Station of above 500 MW capacity. Mr. O. Madhusudan Reddy, Head, Ash Utilisation received the award at the Fly Ash Utilization Awards 2017 held on February 28, 2017, in New Delhi. Instituted by Mission Energy Foundation, a New Delhi based non-profit, the Fly Ash Utilisation 2017 Awards acknowledge the highest level of commitment to utilisation of Fly Ash covering Best Practices, Innovative Developments, and Solutions for Excellence and Sustainability in the thermal power sector. The conference was attended by a host of senior officials from Ministry of Coal, MoEFCC, Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, Central Pollution Control Board, NITI Ayog, NTPC, State Gencos, Independent Power Producing Companies, Cement Companies among others. Nabha Power Limited is a 100% subsidiary under Larsen & Toubro Group and operates a 1400 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Plant at Rajpura Punjab. It is one of the most efficient Thermal Power Plants in the country and sits on top of the merit order by the State Discom for purchase of power. It has shown highest level of commitment to utilisation of ash by disposing both Fly Ash & Pond Ash.
