Inspirational onboarding welcomes newbies into L&T
L&T continued to strengthen its talent pipeline through large-scale hiring, onboarding and talent integration initiatives. In June-July, with a strong focus on attracting, engaging and developing future-ready talent, L&T onboarded over 2,000 Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) and Post Graduate Engineer Trainees (PGETs), as well as 126 Management Trainees (MTs).
These newcomers were welcomed with an orientation through a 3D immersive digital platform. Virtual office walkthroughs, networking opportunities, interactive engagement zones, gamified learning modules and business-specific breakout sessions enabled the freshers to connect, collaborate and learn in a dynamic virtual environment.
A key highlight of the orientation programmes, conducted in July, was the opportunity for the freshers to engage directly with L&T’s senior leadership. L&T’s CMD S N Subrahmanyan shared his inspiring vision for L&T’s future and spoke passionately about the role of young professionals in shaping the nation through engineering excellence, innovation, technology and execution excellence.
He encouraged them to embrace change with humility and curiosity, uphold the highest standards of integrity, remain committed to continuous learning, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
Dr C Jayakumar (EVP & Head, Corporate HR) described L&T as a people-first, professionally-managed organisation, and introduced the Employee Value Proposition anchored in continuous learning, strong values and pride with purpose. Subramanian Sarma (Deputy Managing Director & President), R Shankar Raman (President & Whole-time Director, Finance), T Madhava Das (Whole-time Director & Sr EVP, Energy Hydrocarbon), S V Desai (Whole-time Director & Sr EVP, Infrastructure), A V Parab (Whole-time Director and Sr EVP, Manufacturing) and other senior leaders shared valuable perspectives, offering the newcomers a deeper understanding of L&T’s commitment to excellence, innovation, continuous learning and employee development.
Sessions on L&T’s history, business landscape, safety, etc. connected the newcomers to L&T’s eight decades of nation-building. The freshers also engaged with L&T’s broader commitments to CSR and volunteering.
L&T also welcomed a talented group of Global Interns from leading Ivy League universities for an 8-week internship programme focused on AI, Robotics and Digital Innovation. Live projects, mentorship from business leaders and exposure to L&T’s diverse businesses and world-class projects gave these interns valuable industry experience, while strengthening L&T’s cross-cultural collaboration and global talent engagement.
