To mark the 10th anniversary of the visionary  ‘Make in India’ initiative, Network18 hosted CNBC TV18 Zetwerk Smart Manufacturing Summit 2024, during which  it  felicitated outstanding Indian companies which have been demonstrating world-class manufacturing excellence for a decade or more.
 
L&T was feted for being a ‘Smart Manufacturing Heavy Engineering Company’ for its outstanding track record in the Heavy Engineering sector and the multiple global benchmarks it has set.
 
Mr Anil V Parab (Whole-time Director & Sr EVP – Heavy Engineering and L&T Valves) accepted the honour on behalf of L&T at the hands of Mr R C Bhargava (Chairman – Maruti) at the awards ceremony hosted on 29 February.
 
Mr Parab was accompanied by three L&T seniors – Mr Falgun Chokshi (EVP) and Mr Praveen Bhatt (VP) from Heavy Engineering and Mr Sumeet Chatterjee (Head – Corporate Brand Management & Communications). Mr Parab dedicated this honour to the talented L&T Heavy Engineering team.

L&T's outstanding achievements recognised at ChemTech World Expo
 
L&T left an indelible mark at the ChemTech World Expo 2024 hosted in Mumbai from 4-7 March. Not only that the expansive stall of the L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH) proved a major crowd- puller, but an L&T senior leader and an L&T vertical were conferred the ‘Business Leader of the Year’ award in two different categories.
 
While Mr Subramanian Sarma (Whole-time Director & Sr EVP – Energy, L&T) was named the ‘Business Leader of the Year’ in EPC Services, L&T’s Heavy Engineering vertical was conferred the prestigious award in the plant & machinery category.
 
Mr Suresh Prabhu (former Union Minister) and the jury chairperson Dr R A Mashelkar (former DG – Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) gave away the awards at a glittering ceremony hosted on 4 March. Mr Sarma collected the award conferred on him; the award for the Heavy Engineering vertical was received by Mr Anil Parab (Whole-time Director & Sr EVP – Heavy Engineering & L&T Valves).
 
Instituted in 1983, ChemTech awards recognise outstanding achievements, exemplary leadership, and remarkable contributions of organisations and individuals in various spheres of the Indian industry.

L&T's Water Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business won five prestigious Water Digest World Water Awards (WDWWA).
 
A premier global event celebrating innovation and excellence in water management, WDWWA 2023-24 was organised for the 18th year on 5 February at New Delhi, in partnership with UNESCO. The event was supported by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, National Mission for Clean Ganga, and the National Water Mission.
 
The awards ceremony was presided over by Mr Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti. Attendees included several other doyens of the water world – Mr Tim Curtis (Director – UNESCO Regional Office of New Delhi and the UNESCO Representative to Bhutan, India, the Maldives and Sri Lanka) and several participants from the industry, government, development agencies, academia, water governance and management institutions.
 
The awards for 2023-24 were presented in over 50 categories, with the overarching theme of ‘Water Warriors for Peace’. Acknowledging the efforts that addressed pressing water challenges, these awards highlighted the importance of collaborative action and innovation in achieving water sustainability.
 
L&T’s WET business was adjudged the winner in the categories below for their commendable efforts in contributing to India’s water infrastructure.

L&T's Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical was conferred the coveted Excellence in Change Management Award at The Economic Times’ Human Capital Awards (ETHCA) 2024.
 
The award acknowledges B&F’s ‘Manthan’ – a talent identification and development process supporting succession planning, capability building, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
 
The award was received by L&T’s Mr T Shivaram (Head – HR, B&F) and Ms Bhawna Verma (Sr Manager – HR, B&F) at the ET HR Nextech Conference on 22 February in New Delhi.
 
ETHCA – an initiative of ET HR World, a digital initiative of ET crafted for the HR community – aims to inspire leaders to grow their human capital by investing in their people, processes, and culture.
 
Over 2,000 entries for across 20 categories underwent a rigorous multi-stage jury process that was tabulated by EY, the official tabulation partner for the awards.
