    New Range of Road Construction Equipment Unveiled at Excon 2017

    L&T Construction & Mining Machinery joined hands with its principal, Komatsu India Pvt. Ltd., and participated in Excon 2017, the South Asia’s largest Construction Equipment exhibition, at BIEC Grounds in Bangalore from 12th to 16th December 2017.  The exhibition was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry in association with ICEMA, BAI and Government of Karnataka.

    Spread over 2.5 lakh sqm, Excon ‘17 attracted participation from over 1000 exhibitors comprising both outdoor and indoor areas, including 12 overseas pavilions. Coinciding with the show, industry conferences were organized on topics relating to Next Gen Infrastructure, Smart Technologies for Smart Equipment and Green Construction Technologies.

    Excon 2017 was inaugurated by Mr. Anant Geete, Hon’ble Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, and presided over by Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog.   The next day saw participation of Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, Minister of IT, Municipal Admn. & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana and Mr. R.V. Deshpande, Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka.
     
    L&T and Komatsu had put up a large pavilion in the outdoor area 75 & 76 covering 2100 sqm, consisting of mezzanine with spacious meeting rooms and a large viewing gallery. Mr. Arvind K. Garg, Executive Vice-President & Head, Construction & Mining Machinery Business, L&T, who is also the President of ICEMA (Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association) led L&T’s participation at the exhibition. Komatsu was represented by its senior management led by Mr. M. Kamizono, Managing Director, KIPL. 
     
    Komatsu had showcased its entire range of construction segment machines at the pavilion, Komatsu Hydraulic Excavators models PC71, PC130, PC210, PC300, PC450 and D85 Crawler Dozer.  The highlight of the show was the first-time display of Komatsu GD535 Motor Grader with world-class features such as Komtrax machine tracking system, and PC350 Hydraulic Excavator with reinforced structures. The machines carry the hallmark of cutting-edge Japanese technology and have been well-accepted in the Indian market. PC210 Super Long Front machine was also on display along with PC71 Tunnel and PC130 Quarry variants.

    Excon 2017 also witnessed the launch of Komatsu JTHB210 Rock Breaker for the 20T class Excavator and handing over of the 5000th machines of PC71 and PC130 to customers. L&T extends complete after-sales service solutions to the wide range of Komatsu excavators for various segments and applications.
        
    As part of its ambitious Make in India mission, L&T had put up an impressive display of its entire range of road construction machinery such as L&T 1190 Soil Compactor, L&T 990 Tandem Compactor, L&T 491 Mini Compactor and L&T 9020sx Wheel Loader.
     
    Stepping up its efforts, L&T 2490HD Pneumatic Tyred Handler, L&T S315R Skid Steer Loader and L&T 5590H Hydraulic Paver were unveiled by L&T at the exhibition. All these equipment have been designed and developed in-house by L&T’s Product Development Centre at Coimbatore.

    As part of its value-added services, Komatsu had also set up a Simulator Room at the stall where customers could get a feel for operating the machine at simulated jobsites. An audio-visual room was set up to showcase the benefits of Komtrax, the unique machine tracking system patented by Komatsu.

    L&T also unveiled Suraksha 9000, Komatsu’s unique Machine Care Program for PC210-8M0 machine, with extended power train warranty for 3 years or 9000 hours. This program is the first of its kind in the construction segment in the Indian market. L&T had also on display a range of genuine parts that are marketed through its dealers nationwide.

    A number of customers from all over India visited the pavilion and had interaction with the senior management of L&T and Komatsu on understanding the product developments as well as finalizing new orders. Key handing ceremonies for both L&T and Komatsu took place throughout the five days of the exhibit.
