AS part of a novel HR initiative to on-board over 1,000 Graduate and Post-Graduate Engineering Trainees (GETs and PGETs), L&T rolled out a digital programme, christened GRACE, to provide enriching information about the Company to the fresh recruits.
GRACE, in this case, stands for Get Ready for an Awesome Career in Engineering. L&T’s Corporate HR team has specially developed the virtual pre-joining engagement initiative in view of the second bout of COVID-19 in India that has resulted in strict curbs on physical movement and events.
The 10- week-long programme was launched through a virtual ceremony on 24 March. A panel discussion, featuring representatives from different L&T verticals, was organised as part the launch.
The focus of this one-of-its-kind virtual pre-joining engagement programme is on sharing content related to various learning paths with the new batch of engineering trainees. Besides, the “continuous engagement” also includes gamified quizzes.
Apart from live leader-boards that display how users stack up against their peers, the information shared with the new trainees in this programme has been broadly categorised into five learning tracks – L&T Overview (L&T heritage/leadership/different businesses), L&T in News (awards and accolades won by L&T/project, and press releases), L&T Marvels (record-breaking projects and lesser-known facts about projects), behavioural skills (content related to impactful communication/decision making, etc.) and Live Sessions.
As part of the programme, the GETs and PGETs have been on-boarded onto a mobile micro-learning platform and quizzes have been activated for them to attempt. The integrated, smooth and seamless GRACE programme will continue till the current batch of GETs and PGETs join.
GRACE is aimed at familiarising the new batch of engineering resources with all things L&T – right from legacy to practices, processes to achievements and the way to the future.
